The end of the tour is looming closer. People are starting to feel homesick and ready for a break yet feel a tinge of sadness as tour life was fun and often crazy. Fifi and Maddie were needing to decide what they are going to do once they've recharged their batteries. They didn't know what the guys were doing either so a few calls and emails will be exchanged.
Today the guys have some television interviews to do. The first interview is for a popular daytime show and the girls set to work quickly, although there wasn't much that needed doing, just the hair and make-up which is mainly Fifi's role. She starts with Brian, he wants his quiffed like he sometimes has. As usual he has everyone in stitches; goofing and doing silly impersations. Then it's Howie, he asks her to give his hair a little trim and give it a slight puff. Alex is ready next and he gets her to apply some eyeliner and for the first time, she relaxed and smiling. It took her back with how she used to look at him in the eye, smiling. She spikes Nick's hair up at the front. Lastly, it's Kevin's turn to be seen to. She wasn't really looking forward to styling him but as ever, she does her best to be professional. Taken aback when he spoke to her, softly and calmly...
"Maybe we can put our differences aside and start again, I'm sure you'll be glad to see the back of me once the tour is over."
All of the others soon turned their heads as they heard him. Alex looked a little annoyed but is relieved that Kevin didn't lose his temper, again.
"I guess so. Don't say that. I have a lot of respect for you. You were only looking out for Alex. Anyway, is your hair okay like this or do you want more product in it?"
"No... It's fine as it is. Thanks."
After this exchange, the rest of the day is busy but interesting. Fifi and Maddie sat around, waiting in the dressing rooms during each interview. Time and time again, the guys were asked the same questions over and over; how was Brian's health after his heart surgery and having Swine Flu, Kevin and his return to the group, Howie and his new family, Nick and his solo material and Alex with his recent rehab stint. They were also asked about the tour, the highs and lows, and any crazy fan stories they might like to share. As always, the gus answered honestly and graciously even if they were getting fed up of the same old questions. They were used to it by now, second nature but it was all new to Fifi and Maddie.
Later on, everyone is free to do as they pleased. Maddie had already arranged to for a meal with Harry and they decided to invite Fifi, Alex and Nick. As there's two of the group members, another security guy called Q accompanied them. They went to a pub where they serve hearty British food like steak, pies and carveries, this is more up Fifi's type of food. Surprisingly, Fifi found herself really enjoying the evening. She's sat next to Maddie, who had Harry on the other side of her, then opposite Fifi is Nick, then Alex and Q. Known for taking pictures of himself, Alex asked a waiter to take a picture of them all, he then uploaded it on to his Instagram. Fifi didn't even know what Instagram was so obviously, she has to ask about it. They all laughed at her! It isn't her fault that she found technology over facing and what they explained to her, went right over her head. Alex vowed to explain more about it, another time and offered to help her set her own account up if she wanted.
Once they all eaten their food, they stepped outside onto the balcony into the evening's slight cool air and straight away, Alex was puffing on a cigarette. Fifi is sitting on the bench behind where the gus were standing and Maddie went over to see her...
"How's it going?"
"Fine so far thank you Mads. It's nice to be able to hang out with Alex again, he hasn't really changed that much has he?"
"Nah, not really. Hey, this is why me and Harry invited you two with Nick and Q. I knew you'd relax and have fun with Nick, make it easier for you both. I hope you didn't mind?"
Fifi couldn't quite make out Maddie's facial features properly with the dim lighting but could tell that she was smiling and looking pleased with herself.
"A few weeks back, I might have said yes, I do mind but not now. You were right to plan it like you did."
"Good, hey I should take a 'self oe' of us and then you can upload it onto Instagram when you've got it set up?!! Here... Cheese!!"
Fifi sticks out her tongue at the phone. A minute later, Harry calls Maddie over to where he is so Fifu wanders over next to Nick. Slowly bowing her head over the balcony, she begins to feel a little queasy at how high uo they are and out of nowhere, Alex comes up next to her on her left side. Fifi teasingly tuts out loud at him smoking. He just pulls a silly face at her...
"Hey Alex, you wanna come shooting tomorrow? What about you Fifi?"
"You want me to thrash ya, you know how competitive I get when playing it?!? Nah, thanks but not this time, might go sightseeing or something."
Now Nick is looking at Alex, trying to coax him into playing but already knowing what his answer will be. A big flat no.
"Since when have I been interested in shooting hoops, rather go shopping!!"
"Such a girl AJ!!"
This makes Fifi giggl watching these two baiting with each other. Nick points her to look at Alex's mails which are painted a leopard print, she hadn't nticed this befor...
"Since when... Did you start painting your nails? Nick's right!!"
"Oi! Stop ganging up on me will you?!! You're only jealous!"
"Shut it bone!!"
"Butthead!!"
Amused, laughing at them acting like big kids.. She looks over to see Maddie on the other side of Nick with Harry's arms wrapped round her. Fifi smiles, she's happy and is most definitely having a good time. A couple of hours later, they leave the pub and walk back to the hotel.
