Chapter Two

Fast forward sixteen years;

Packing up all the equipment ready for the new job ahead of her, butterflies and enthusiasm churns in her stomach. Fifi loves her job as a hair and beauty stylist, she's been doing it since she graduated from college twelve years previously. After about ten years of working for other people, she and Maddie decided to venture into business together forming 'ImageDuo'. So far they have been working with wedding parties and fancy dress functions but want to expand their portfolio. Fifi saw an advert looking for an independent stylist to work within the music industry alongside music artists. 

Dressed in their matching outfits which were plain black blouses, black leggings and fuschia pink accessory pouch bags around their waists.

"how do I look Fifi?" Asks Maddie as she twirls around to give her friend a good look, before she nows it, Fifi wraps her arms around her telling her how proud she is of the two of them

"We really should get leaving or we'll be late for our first day!"

Waiting for someone to come and greet them, the girls explore the surroundings of the reception area; lots of tall bushy plants, leather armchairs, crisp white painted walls and they observe the pretty receptionist behind her large desk. As they follow the receptionist to where they need to be, Fifi starts pondering in her mind about who they're going to be working with and what they will be like. She hopes she will make new friends and do 'ImageDuo' proud. The receptionist briefly introduces the girls to the band and tries to remember the guys names. 

"Right okay...Brian, Howie, Nick... And..."

"Kevin, Fifi is that right, yeah?" Interrupts Kevin when she was thinking out loud unbeknown to her. 

"Yes and at least you remembered better than me Ha!"

Straight away, Fifi starts working on Kevin, making sure she styles his hair how he likes it and they make chit-chat. Maddie is busy sorting everyone's clothes, checking everything is fitting correctly. Kevin explains that there's another guy, AJ, but he's taking time out for personal reasons and hopefully he will be back soon. He doesn't go into too much detail but shr alreadt has in mind that she and Maddie are going to get along just fine with the guys. There's already plenty of laughter and chit-chat happening, the girls are at ease. Now the band have gone to do their television interview and the girls, after tidying up head back home. 

A week later, the girls have started to feel completely relaxed and are enjoying their new job. Fifi feels like it was the best decision to do the job, there's never two days alike, she's learned that the guys like to play pranks on each other and she is getting on great with each guy, especially Nick. Apart from being close in age, she thinks he's quite sweet and has a good laugh with him. She likes how all the gus are different, for example, Howie is kind and quite shy at times, Kevin for his seriousness but very caring and Brian, well she thinks he's silly but good to chat to. At times, Fifi forgot that there is another guy in the band as there hasn't been much said to her or Maddie about him, apart from that he can be a little crazy and has a very big heart. She doesn't know where or why he is off work but she's looking forward to meeting him when he does come back. 

The next day, the girls, the band and everyone are scheduled for a meeting with the meetings at the record company office. Fifi learns that they will be going on tour in a few weeks time and that 'ImageDuo' will be needing to work on styling, and wardrobe ready for it. She knows this is going to be a heavy work load but is very excited and can't wait to go on tour. Firstly though, there will be more meetings over the next few weeks to discuss themes,styles and anything else that needs sorting out. Maddie will be actually getting to design outfits for the tour but Fifi will be on hand to help as they do for each other. Both girls have been invited by the guys to join them on a night-out to celebrate the upcoming tour and a chance to let their hair down before the hard work starts. 

All day, Fifi and Maddie do each others hair and makeup ready for the night. Maddie decides on a cropped top and knee length skirt with high heels while Fifi chooses on a purple cut-out cocktail dress with platform shoes. Both girls look and feel good. Fifi chose to have her hair down to show off it's natural waves and Maddie has got her golden blonde hair up in a loose bun. 

A short while later, a taxi has picked them up to take them to the exclusive lounge bar to meet everyone else. As soon as they arrived in the bar, they sure had plenty of heads turned and Nick was the first to greet them. He couldn't believe how stunning Fifi looks all dressed up and put his arm around her; leading her to the bar. Maddie riders her drink and heads over to where all the others are; leaving Nick and Fifi still at the bar. Seeing her looking tongue-tied, he tells her that he is glad that they're going to be working together more and that he will look after her. Sensing her nervousness, he asks if she's okay...

"Yeah I am, thank you. Sorry if I'm being weird... I don't find it easy around guys."

Looking down and trying to avoid eye contact with Nick, he pulls her into a hug telling her...

"Don't worry, I'll look after you, I promise..."

Before he even finishes what he's saying, she goes on to say...

"I don't believe in promises, they only get broken in the end. You see, this one guy I knew, he promised me yet he broke my heart! I know we were kids but it knocked my confidence. I've not been able to let any guys get close to me since, soubds pathetic, I know. Anyway... Can we please keep this between us, let's enjoy tonight. So are you gonna show me your moves or what?!"

Laughing to himself, he picks Fifi up and heads straight to the dance floor. The rest of the night consists of plenty of drinks (although Fifi doesn't drink) dancing and lots of laughing. 

After the night out, the girls spent the rest of the weekend resting and prepping for the week ahead as it's slowly getting closer to the tour. All day on Monday and Tuesday, Fifi was speaking to various fashion designers arranging materials and customised accessories for the guys outfits whilst Maddie busy calculating costs for everything.
