Chapter 21 - Girl"s Talk.

A couple of days later and Maddie had gone to see her family leaving Fifi alone in the apartment. Unbeknown to he though, Fifi is again throwing up. In fact, this has happened a few times since coming back home but hasn't said anything to Maddie or anyone. She doesn't want to worry anybody assuming it is just some recurring bug.

Several hours pass and feeling much better after having more sleep since her vomit design, she decides to think about getting something to eat. Checking herself over in the mirror, she's astonished to see how much like a lobster she now looks but there was something else she noticed... Her ankles look a little puffy, her eyes look worn out and her tummy, it looked much different.

"Someone's gonna have to go on a stupid diet, I see. Geez!!"

Unimpressed with how she saw herself in the mirror, she goes to the kitchen and searches for some vegetables. She decides to make some fresh carrot and coriander soup. Tending to the soup, she hears Maddie coming in through the front door with another voice.

"Hello, I'm back and look who I've found..."

Then stepping out from behind her is their friend, Jasmine.

"Hi girl! How's you?"

"Hey Jas! Good thanks, what about you? Where did you bump into each other?"

"I'm fab thanks babe! Maddie was stood on the street waiting for her taxi when I saw her."

Maddie just nodded and collected some smoothies from the kitchen, bringing them into the living room where Fifi and Jas were sitting. All three girls catch up about life. Jas was busy telling them about her work and David, her fiancĂ© of ten years whom she met when they were all at college together. Both Fifi and Maddie often wondered when they were actually going to get married but they were aware of how highly strung, feisty Jas was and how it often made her relationship with David difficult. When she first got engaged, she asked Fifi and Maddie to be her bridesmaids to which they obviously accepted. They can't wait!

"So... When's the big day then Jas?"

Asked Maddie, hoping to hear some good news.

"You's have got to wait even longer, sorry!!"

Now Fifi and Maddie swap exasperating looks...

"Ha! Got ya! It's booked for two months time! Are you still doing your duties?"

"Err, yes!! We can't wait!"

Exclaimed Fifi who's now waving her arms in the air, coping Jas's dramatic movements. She sees the excitement in her friends" face. They clink the glasses together as they start talking about the wedding.

"Will you two help me plan it and stuff? I have a scrap book at home and want to buy loads of wedding magazines, so I can put a mood board together."

"Of course, we will. No need to ask us, is there Fifi?"

"Nope, not at all Mads."

"Okay, thanks babes! I need stylists! Florists! Photographer! Venue!"

Typical Jas being Jas, they raise their eyebrows at each other, totally not surprised at their friend's bossiness. Before they even got a chance to say anything, Jas starts demanding...

"Short dresses and tons of makeup like you've been tangoed, right?!"

"Why don't we wait and see when we go dress shopping?"

"You'll both look boring, I wear tons of makeup so you can too."

"Okay Jas, we've got it."

"Should we meet up again to discuss it more? Then you'll have your scrap book and stuff as well."

The three of them carry on chatting. Meanwhile, the guys were all making the most of being off work. Kevin, Howie and Brian with their families, Nick and Alex both missed keeping busy. They both missed Fifi more than anything. For Nick, he misses her more than he dares let himself to do so. Alex reflecting and missing her, the old Fifi that he once knew.

Back at the girls apartment, they're still chatting. Maddie being all gushy about her blossoming romance with Harry, and then she lets slip about Fifi. Fifi tells Jas how she's been working with Alex.

"I cannot believe it! Why didn't you tell me sooner?! You's were like the school sweethearts, even if you were both weird. You are still but is he?"

"Charming Jas! I didn't want to talk about it, it was hard enough having to see him again. It was a shock to the system anyway. He's not changed that much, if that's what you mean."

"Alright, chill out woman!!"

"Jas, button it will you... It's not been easy for her. Anyway, I'm shattered."

"Yeah, I've got work tomorrow so guess I should get going. Sorry Fifi. We will definitely meet up soon, yeah girls?"

"Sure, nice to see you Jas!!"

"See ya babes!!"

As soon as she was gone, they locked the door and heavily breathed out. They love her but she drives them both mad sometimes! Fifi feeling a little restless now but ends up going to bed. Maddie speaks to Harry on the phone as usual before going to sleep. Neither of them have got plans so they decide to stay indoors and put their feet up, watching telly.
