Clearing his throat and apologising for being rude, he could not bring himself to telling her that she reminded him so much of Alex.
"Maybe they think there's something going on with us..."
Feeling much more relaxed, Fifi nuzzles her face into his chest;
"Possibly"
"Anyway, it's nobody else's business where there is or not. When I saw you in that little purple dress... I, I coudn't take my eyes off you, you looked stunning."
Looking a little embarrassed, Fifi notices his cheeks going a slight rosy tint and leans in to kiss him on the cheek but they end up kissing properly. A couple of moments later, she tells him...
"You're pretty darn cute, always there for me and a good kisser! All this stuff with Alex is stirring up a lot for me at the moment so I don't want to get caught up and spoil whar we have."
Secretly feeling rejected, he nods in agreement;
"Yes, I understand and feel the same. I love how we are."
Yawning, they both decide to head back home and Fifi is sure she will finally get some sleep that night.
Feeling bright and breezy, Fifi feels a bounce in her footsteps the next day. She feels stronger to face Alex than she did the day before. He is still keeping his distance after Kevin got involved suggesting he does so until she was ready to talk to him. When it was time to work with Alex on hs tour wardrobe, she takes the time to notice all his tattoos; wow she was impressed with how many she could see on his arms and neck. He certainly looks a lot different to when she last saw him all those years ago!
"Fifi, can we talk sometime? I know you're mad at me and I'm sorry about what happened"
Scorning her eyebrows, she tells him no. Anyway she's too busy to be hearing his sob story as far she's concerned.
Dinner time came and went but Fifi had lots of work to get through with Maddie so didn't have time to fetch any food. Thankfully, Nick brought some for her while he was out having his and she was grateful. This led Maddie to interrogate her about Nick...
"Yeah we decided to see each other and he's taking me on a date!"
Trying to be sarcastic only for him to come back to drop off some drinks for them to which a gullible Maddie turns her attention watching every little movement he makes.
"Nick, so how's it going?"
Directing her eye at Fifi so he'd know what she meant...
"Great thanks! She's lovely isn't she??"
Purposely winking at Fifi as he walks away. Feeling smug, she sunk back into her chair and concentrated on supping her hot chocolate suddenly surprised when maddie starts asking further questions about her and Nick...
"Honestly, there's nothing going on, we're just good friends and he's been so sweet with me. Yes, he is cute and it might seem like there's more but there really isn't."
"Okay. I think you'd be great together but I get it especially with Alex being back on the scene, well you know what I mean. Guess I'll just shut up before you slap me, ha!"
This led Fifi to question herself what she meant by 'Alex being back on the scene', right now that's the last thing she wants to be a part of. She's not going to let herself get hurt by him again.
The rest of the sat was like a breeze and everyone worked on their own thing, the fabric company delivered the rest of the materials ready for Maddie to shape them all into garments of clothing. This was carried on over the next few days, Fifi doing her final measurements with each guy (apart from Alex as he was the last one to be done). This was the part she wasn't lookinh forward to as it meant she was going to be in a room on her own with Alex (like she was with the others). She had managed to avoid him as much as she could until now.
Watching him undress to his undies, she found herself not being able to drag her eyes away from him and jolted when he said...
"Hey up, want a staring comp?!! Ha!!"
Feeling highly annoyed with herself for allowing herself to do that, she soon stood up and laid out the loosely tacked clothing across the floor. Without her realising, he stood next to her and knelt down beside her while he tells her how sorry he is...
"You promised me, do you remember? I held onto us for so long; I ended up heartbroken. I don't know what to say or how to be around you... I thought you stopped feeling how you dd about me, I felt rejected. This isn't easy."
"I'll stay away from you then and maybe when you stop to think about how I felt at the time, you'll let me explain?!!"
An uneasy silence fills up the room...
"I don't want us to keep fghting and avoiding each other like we are, we do have to work together and I hate confrontation."
"Same here Fifi, but I've been taught to try and be honest, I don't want to end up back where I was a month ago!"
This catches her attention...
"Where?"
"Rehab Fifi. Don't worry, I'm not looking for sympathy."
He grabs hs jacket and makes his way to the door;
"I'll see you, Fifi."
"Alex... I'm not going to give you any sympathy, rehab isn't anything to do with me."
He storms off leaving her clearing away everything by herself, making her sigh. She heads straight over to her parents house for work with Maddie in the taxi as she's going to see hers. Fifi fills her parents in with what has been happening in her life and catches up with theirs. In all honesty, she's glad to be in their company for a while.
"So what are the guys like that you're working with? I hope they're behaving for you darling, I know what young guys are like!!"
Her dad winks; Steve making his daughter laugh...
"Dad, apart from two, the guys are older than me and they're decent. Ha ha!! I'm glad I started doing this new job, I settled into life with them pretty easy, Maddie too. One thing about them is that they are all different and I get on really well with one of them in particular, he's called Nick. I think he's a bit younger than me as well but we have a laugh and he can get a bit crazy but he's great."
Inspecting every word that Fifi is saying, he then asks...
"When am I gonna meet these guys then?"
"Soon das. I'll be going on tour with them soon and I'll get you and mom tickets to the nearest show. I will get you VIP as well, Maddie's parents will probably be joining you which might be nice for you all to catch up."
She could see how happy they were and realises how much she misses them. As it's getting late, she begins to make her tracks back home and hugs both her parents before leaving.
