Not so plain sailing..

Life on the road is going great for everyone and time is flying by. Fifi is loving seeing all the venues and is excited because hers, and Maddie's parents are all coming to see the show. She hopes they will be impressed. They meet her at the hotel and after letting them settle in, she takes them out for lunch. Her parents had a surprise for and she soons find out what it is. It's her brother, Peter. This is a lovely surprise for her and they were enjoying spending time together.
Later on, she took them to the venue as she had to check in with work. She went to get a drink and saw her family talking to Alex...

"Hey sweetheart, why didn't you tell us Alex is in the group?"

Exclaims her mum, who's smiling like there's no tomorrow...

"I... I didn't think..."

Fifi suddenly feeling uneasy and looks around, anxiously.

"AJ, come on bro... We gotta go and get on the stage!!"

Yells Brian from the other side of the room, obviously in a hurry. Alex says farewell and goes to catch up with Brian. Fifi relaxes as Maddie and her parents joins with Fifi's. Amongst themselves, they're all happily chatting except Fifi. Maddie notices her friend looking slightly strained so excuses them away from the group.

"You look like you've seen a ghost... Try not to worry and make the most of our familes being here, Fifi."

So Fifi goes outside and stays there for a few minutes. When she walks back into the arena, near where her parents are, she looks over to the stage to see the guys are now on there. Again, she loses herself as she sits there, watching them. She's impressed still with the way Alex focuses on a fan and tries to make them feel special. All five guys are passionate about performing and certainly know how to excite the crowd. Everytime Alex comes near where they're sitting, her family cheer and whistle him on whereas she just sits there.

After the show, it's time for the after party for the guys and some of the fans. Meanwhile, back at the hotel in the private bar, everyone else is catching up and letting their hair down. Soon the guys arrive, and Fifi introduces her family to them. Alex and her family are busy talking so Fifi goes to hang out with Nick, Howie and Leigh. Not much later and she notices that Alex has left to go to his room. Then one by one, everyone else depart up to their rooms as well. The girls were the last ones standing and they go to their room once they finished their drinks,

By this time, it is the middle of the night and Fifi has spent the whole two and a half hours in bed, just tossing and tuning unable to sleep. Tears prick her eyes as the emotion overwhelmes her and she decides to get up out of bed. Fed up, she wraps her dressing gown round herself and goes for a wander. Thinking to herself, she doubts the chance of bumping into anyone at this time of night.
She comes across the large conservatory and sits down in a little alcove, overlooking out onto the beautiful hotel garden. Watching the water fall in the grand water fountain and focusing on the silence of the night. Then out of nowhere, a familiar voice appears behind her so she turns round to see Alex standing observing the view in front of them...

"Picturesque isn't it?!?"

"Hi Alex, I didn't think anyone would be around at this time of night..."

"Fifi, why didn't you tell your family about me? Anyway, if you prefer to be alone then I'll just go..."

Reluctantly, she motions him to sit down. After sitting in silence, Fifi asks him about rehab.

"I lost who I was, I was turning into someone that wasn't me. Instead of talking about what was going on in my head, I turned to booze and drugs. Rehab wasn't easy but it did me good. After the fight with Kevin, things had to change. He woke me up to face my problems."

"Fight with Kevin, oh. Were you okay?"

He wasn't expecting to hear the concern coming from her, he told her everything is fine with Kevin and that he was a jerk and it had to happen.

"He scares me a little, don't get me wrong; I like him but... I get the feeling he's not a fan of me if I'm honest with you Alex."

"Fifi, he cares, that's all it is. He's a great guy with a good head on his shoulders."

"Okay."

Feeling sleepy but surprisingly calm, Fifi stretches her arms out.

"He's never really bothered with me that much, like wanting to get to know me like the other guys have. Anyway, I'm heading off back to my room now so I'll say goodnight to you, Alex."

"He'd be crazy not to like you Fifi, goodnight."

Walking back to her room, Fifi is taken back at how mature Alex seems now and that there was a slight flicker of the Alex she once knew. Maybe she's been too hard on him, she thinks to herself. She hopes now she'll feel more comfortable around him and that they have more pleasant conversations together. It can only improve, can't it?! She asks herself. Feeling proud that she didn't push him away, she sees this as a big step. As soon as her head hits the pillow, she's out like a light.

The next morning, Fifi drags herself out of bed and gets ready to go down for breakfast in the hotel dining room. Half asleep, she goes straight to the food counter and glances around while waiting to be served, she sees Alex talking to her family. Maddie calls out for her to join them once she's been served. When she starts to walk towards where her family were sitying, she spots Alex dashing off out of the dining room and a sense of disappointment pangs in her tummy. Ignoring her feelings, she carries in with what she's doing.
Sitting in her own little world, whilst everyone around her are talking about the show and how happy they are to see Alex again.

"I always knew he'd do well for himself, I just knew it!"

Exclaims Steve and now Peter is having his say...

"I'm gonna get his number and meet up with him after the tour finishes, it's been way too long! I always liked the guy, a bit crazy at times, if I remember rightly?!?"

For the next half an hour, all Fifi hears is talk about Alex. Alex this, Alex that... Frustrated and annoyed, she strolls off for some peace. After calming down, she meets up with her family. They spend the afternoon doing some sightseeing and then when back at the hotel, they all go to chill out in their rooms. Fifi falls asleep and doesn't hear Maddie coming in.

As per usual, the girls prepare the guys for the show that night and they quickly grab something to eat. Then they join their families to watch the show. Like the last few shows previously, she's taken back to her childhood and also watching Nick, while she enjoys the music. She thinks about maybe going to talk to him Alex after the show but se needs to psych up first. Later when the show finishes, they all make their way to backstage to get on the buses. Once on the bus, Fifi goes to find Alex and when she is near him, he leaves to go upstairs. Upstairs is where the bunks are so she saunters after him but disappointed, she slumps down in the seats near her. Feeling someone prodding her, she wakes up to find Nick is kneeling down in front of her telling her that they're at the hotel and everybody else has vacated the buses.

"Why didn't anyone wake me up? How long have we been here for?"

Trying his best to to reassure her, Nick helps her to stand up and tells her...

"They all must have thought you had already got off here and we ain't been here too long. Stop fretting babe, come on, I'll help you off."

And off he helps her into the hotel. He walks her up to her room and as he steps back, she pulls him closer to give him a hug...

"Thanks Nick. I'd have probably still be on that bus if if weren't for you. I can't believe I was left. How did you know I was on it?"

"I was heading back to get this spray stuff and I bumped into AJ on the way, he just happened to mention that he saw you on it. So I thought I'd check and there you were."

Now confusion ad agitation consumes Fifi but she fights to not let it show. She says goodnight to Nick and watches him walk away to his own room. Feeling worn out, she finally lets herself in to the room and gets ready for bed. Trying not to yell out when she bangs her foot on the leg of the bed and hoping not to wake up Maddie. At long last, she snuggles up under her duvet and reminisces over the show. This soon sends her to sleep.

When breakfast was over and done with, the familes of Fifi and Maddie both make their way back home. The girls feel a pang of sadness bidding the farewell but they are still excited to be on tour. Time seems to have flown Bt quickly with lots of work, sight seeing and spending lots of quality time together. Both families are proud of their daughters and enjoyed every moment shared with them whilst understanding how hard work life is on the road.
