Part 1 to chapter 32. Trying Too Hard.

Over the next few days, Fifi visited her family and met up with Jas. Jas was underway with her wedding arrangements, the venue was booked and as was the flowers.mthe dresses were chosen and were in the middle of being altered. Jas had chosen bright pink for the bridesmaid dresses to which Fifi, Maddie, Louis (another friend) and Jas's two sisters weren't too keen on but went along with it to keep the peace. Preparations for the girls hen do had started, both Fifi and Maddie decided to to book a limousine and a boozy naught in downtown LA which Jas was very happy about. They knew she'd appreciate this more than a luxurious retweat at a relaxing spa. All Jas liked doing was getting very drunk!
One evening when Fifi was chilling out on the sofa watching some old Backstreet Boys footage, she heard a knock at the front door so she paused the DVD and goes to answer it. As soon as she opened the door, she found herself enveloped in Alex's arms. She invites him inside while hoping he doesn't see what's on her telly.

"I want to ask you something and it's okay if you don't want to or feel uncomfortable about..."

"Okay, do you want a drink or something first?"

He nods and they walk into the kitchen. She helps herself some cold drinks and hands one to Alex.

"Hey, I just realised..." "Realised what?"

"You remembered where I live!"

"Huh yep, how could I forget?! My memory ain't that bad, y'know!"

"Alright. So, what was it you wanted to ask me?"

They sit themselves down at the breakfast bar and tuck into the crisps that she has emptied into a bowl on the counter.

"I'm going to another therapy session in a couple of days, and I wanted to see how you'd feel about going with me to it?"

"Me, are you sure? I wouldn't want to impose on something so personal and private."

"Fifi, I want you to be a part of my life again, and I thought it would be good for us both especially in relation to my troubles. I understand if you don't want to."

She thinks for a few minutes...

"Okay, I will come. I want to be there for you and it might help to equip me with understanding it all better. You never know, they might end up referring me to a therapist of my own, ha!"

He stood up off his stool, wanders round to where Fifi is perched and wraps his arms her.

"Thanks baby, this means a lot and I don't think they will. We can call it a 'get to know each other' date, if you like?"

"Huh?!?"

He bends his head round to see her face and bursts out laughing.

"I'm kidding babe. It will be a bit like that though, possibly anyway. So did I interrupt a solitary evening in?"

"Nah, was just watching the telly. Want to join me on the sofa, we can take these in there and relax?"

"Yeah, why not!"

So they walk through, Alex plonks himself on the sofa and Fifi fiddles with the remote to try to turn the DVD off but it suddenly starts playing, freaking poor Alex out! She wants to bury her head in shame when she sees his face.

"Sorry about that. The stupid thing isn't working properly."

"Backstreet Boys huh?! They any good?"

Once the telly is sorted, she sits back down.

"They're average, I'd say. Oh and that what's his name, AJ, he's a sight for sore eyes!! When e sings, he squeals. Poor girl whoever dates him..."

Alex throws his cushion at her making her wince.

"Oi! What was that for?!"

"A sight for sore eyes, eh?!"

"Yeah, he's a big monkey."

"That's funny..."

"What is...?"

"Fifi, I'm sure I saw a girl who looked just like you, the same girl that went ice skating with him?"

"I must have a double then!"
"An okay, think I need to take a closer look..."

"And how do you plan on doing that?"

Within a second and before she could even protest, he cups her face and kisses her.

"I now know for sure who it was."

"Oh aye and who?!"

"You!"

He leans over her and again, he kisses her and moves himself more over her until she suddenly tries to push him off...

"What's up Fifi?"

"I can feel you getting into it especially your little friend and it's too much. I just can't."

He then looks down at himself and sees exactly what she means, he senses her awkwardness and goes to reassure her.

"Sorry baby, guess he got a little carried away! I'll make sure he behaves."
